@Narayanan Ramachandran You exactly hit hit the nail on the head. Generally area of Dev2Prod processes (also incremental) , automation, governance has huge gap in product (and in OAS it is even more evident with comparison to OAC). I am trying to point/bring attention of responsible people in Oracle Analytics Dev/Mgmt -…

@Gabby Rubin-Oracle Thanks, looking forward to try/test in OAS 2025.
-
@Mostafa Morsy-Oracle It seems from your answers, that you are completely detached from every day reality of maintaining/administering OAC/OAS environment . At our OAS environments (especially DEV environment, since we strictly separate DEV/TEST and PROD OAS environments) DV objects (data sets, workbooks…) are changing…

@Mostafa Morsy-Oracle Mostafa, do you really mean your advice seriously or was a kind of bad joke attempt ? Have you ever tried this plugin ? I would politelly call it very poor attempt to offer something (of very poor quality) than nothing. But honestly it is horrible… I would not recommend it to anybody who means…

@Gabby Rubin-Oracle Gabby, thanks for the explanation. But I don't think it is so complicated. Majority of use cases are following : You have dimension table and this has code + name and you want to display name in visualization , sorted by corresponding code. You have time dimensions designed with date granularity (with…

It looks like, my Idea: deals exactly with the same topic. Both Ideas are in Under Review status. Looking forward to have it implemented.

@BrandonH It is not very much clear, what you would not support ? Just API for manipulating data flows or API for DV as such (for manipulating other DV objects as well - connections, data sets, workbooks….) ? I hope the first option is correct. You are right, that data flows are not at the same level of maturity as…

@Avinash Krishnaram-Oracle Thanks. Let us, pls, know when fix will be ready. I will then ask Support to do the same for OAS. Michal

I think this would be doable with parameter binding - you will define parameter, whose initial value would be logical SQL, referencing RPD variable and then you can bind that parameter to filter column.
-
This Idea is duplicate to following: which is in "Under Review" status.

@Narayanan Ramachandran This is exactly our situation - we have very secured internal server environment and installing NodeJs modules directly from nmp internet repositories is no go option . Besides this one of the required NodeJs modules (puppeteer) is requiring installation of Chromium, since it relies on its…

@Avinash Krishnaram-Oracle I have encountered exactly the same behavior as @Jorge Olmeda - for Tile Label in properties reference to parameter (syntax @parameter("param name") gets always replaced with current value of corresponding parameter (when you navigate out of property panel and return back). I would classify this…

@Rajakumar Burra What you are describing is just an workaround. It is not about not showing any data on particular canvas for some users (by applying role based filters on data sets), but hide the whole canvas for them (if they are not eligible to see the content of this canvas). Basically it is about to have same…

@Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle @Gabby Rubin-Oracle Ben/Gabby thanks for explanation - I am fine with that. I agree : having status "Need more votes" better describes situation than "Submitted". Michal

@User_0THLM If you are missing DV API for OAS, pls vote for this my idea: Thanks

@Benjamin Arnulf-Oracle @Gabby Rubin-Oracle and others from Analytics Product Mgtmt/Strategy: I have following question on you: What is exact evaluation process to decide, whether particular Idea will/will not be and when implemented ? I am quite confused to be honest: I will give you example: This Idea (created quite long…

Hi Avinash, Thanks for comprehensive answer. My second question seems to be not answered (at least I cannot deduct it). I understand that there is complexity in implementation of both ideas : hiding column and alternate sorting by attribute column - are both having the same complexity of implementation than ? Thanks again…
-
@Avinash Krishnaram-Oracle Hi Avinash , first let mi ask following question: Is this hiding column feature so difficult to implement, that it has such long term ETA ? Second: If I understand what is behind this requirement - it is about being able to set alternate sorting based on atribute column (not a measure column)…

@SteveF-Oracle What about certification for OL9 - this is the same case ? Thanks for the answer.

I vote hundred times for this idea. Web based semantic modeler should support same flexibility as Connection Pool object in RPD poses - which is definitively not the case for Connection object used in Semantic Modeler. We use (in our OAS environments) variables for Connection Pool properties as standard and thus migration…
