You might want to double check the detail level on the LTS and exactly which fields must be present in the target analysis for it to use your aggregation table, is the physical sql showing your table when you look at the logs?
-
Hi, you can create alternative drill hierarchies under a single dimension. if your requirement is not based on a single dimension then you can create custom drill actions (essentially open report 'X' with 'Is Prompted' filters catching source values from the analysis drilled from) based on action links in analyses. It…

See also the advanced tab in answers, there is a check box so you can ensure that it does not use cache, invaluable during testing!

Gianni beat me to the 'Add Reply' button - I was describing scenario B.

If the table already exists in the physical then you should be able to edit the columns changed manually; I find this faster unless you are talking a massive change; and then drag the columns onto their equivalents in the business model layer to effect the change on the BMM. Presentation layer should not need touching. You…

Maybe this => ODBC driver doesn't appear in ODBC data source

Hi Joel, I think I have witnessed what he is describing, but for the life of me cannot recall the fix. I think he is saying that when he clicks 'Finish' on the second window that the entire stack of windows disappears - no visual error or anything, but if you reopen it has not kept what you configured, I think we worked…

Hi Carsten, whilst OBIEE and Essbase are complimentary products they are not so tightly tied together that OBIEE will use Essbase as a data source without some work within the rpd. Originally someone will have; - * set up a connection pool to your Essbase instance using the (albeit local) connection details, user and…

If this is OBIEE reporting Essbase data then it will be in the connection pool, which is the question I misread you as asking the first time....
-
No problem! Thanks are appreciated here!
-
Or a variant of @Joel_Acha suggestion is save your rpd as XML and then you can use your tool of choice to search / parse its content.
-
Yes, I think I implied that with Duplo ;-) Building a layer over answers for that would be a hell of a piece of work... @Rohit_Trehan wouldn't some training make more sense, cost less, be more cost effective, empower your users more?
-
So you kind of want to give them pre-built reports, with them only having the ability to apply certain filters to the reports in question? A kind of 'duplo' brick approach to report building? (Duplo = lego, but for very small children, bigger bricks!)
-
Hi Rohit, I guess what the collected Mensch here are trying to ascertain is; - "Why do you need to use ADF at all, what are you trying to achieve that makes you throw away the benefits and support of the off the shelf software package that is OBIEE and instead invest in an expensive and risky custom build?"

Have a look at => https://support.oracle.com/knowledge/Enterprise%20Performance%20Management%20and%20Business%20Intelligence/1911331_1.htm… and https://r12siebel.wordpress.com/2012/03/23/obiee-errors-with-exceeded-configured-maximum-number-of-allowed-output-prompt… (particularly the last point in this one)

To edit your compound layout; -
-
Hi, analysis, not report for OBIEE. And the answer is simple, when you select the analysis you can also select which view it displays, it defaults to compound view but you can change it. Or you can make it policy that you always make your compound view the view that you have in dashboards and just change your compound view…

Just about certain to be OOTB problem - when last I tried AGO on finance OTBI the majority of subjects areas did not support or did not fully support AGO due to sub-optimal* modelling in the rpd * I am being generous

Hi Adam, re: Joel's very useful link, a word of advice. User desire for insanely large pivot tables is insatiable. No matter how large you make it they will want it bigger, usually 'because you can do it in excel'. My reply to this is generally, so you can display 1,048,576 rows by XFD columns in excel, how many can you…
