True ... but the way you have formed your ask this is doesn't fit strictly in this star ... you need a new star.

You're not off base ... the degenerate dimension part is a little tricky ... depends on how the whole thing is modeled ... and yes, usually have see fragmented fact based on ranges of time (ie: don't fetch from massive history table unless use is requesting historical data) which keeps the usable row counts down and…

"The 2 tables should only be used when a certain dimensional field (degenerate dimension) is being used AND only for a subset of customer ids." Sounds like fragmentation .... https://www.rittmanmead.com/blog/2007/06/obiee-data-modeling-tips-2-fragmentation/

"In essence I am trying to update the permissions of select users in BI without having to change the configuration active directory." Rather it is a better approach to add users to AD groups that represent their BI roles then import into WLS and map to application roles in EM. @ArijitC has shown you the proper way. This…

Yes, but WHY? Never under estimate the power of simple.
-
Either pay someone to build it, pay to implement their pre-built one OR build it yourself ... not too much else to say!
-
Agreed ... this should move to the Applications forum.

seems like you are asking for this ... https://www.clearpeaks.com/obiee-data-lineage-solution-tracking-obiee-reporting-data/

Kavya, "we have 53 individual columns ." - in your database, report or both? any which way -- the experts are indicating that this is not the appropriate way to do it ... this is how we might have done it before the invention of modern reporting tools. "I am trying to here dynamically hiding last column when year is non…

Pivot won't show the 53rd week if it doesn't exist in the data ...

Why isn't TRAFFIC, SR & BASELINE conformed on the same Date? If you pick a single date: 1/4/2018 do you NOT want TRAFFIC, SR & BASELINE for that date by hour? If not what is the relationship between Date and Baseline Date? Is it a year ago, month ago, etc? We need a little more detail ... this isn't a prompting issue…

You are probably having data type issues between dates and timestamps ... but really if you have to do to_number on a to_char on a to_date then subtract 1900000 from it then you've got other issues ... USE of information DRIVES physical data model design. You've got a use for the information, but haven't stored it in such…

SaaS vs PaaS ... wasn't thinking of that - thanks for the extra eyes!

Not off the top of my head ... I suggest you reach out to your Oracle Rep and have them coordinate a session with a sales engineer - a technical person that can help you truly vet the tool to your specifications.
-
Unclear: * want the schedule not to run on a holiday?, OR * just don't want to see holiday rows in any report run from this schedule?, OR * both 1 & 2, OR * something different than 1 and/or 2

Inheritance is optional (I don't have a trial BICS to formulate a plan) ... you might have to get creative and try to force the issue with custom roles and explicit Deny (if I'm not mistaken it reigns supreme over the least-restrictive rule). Also, have your Oracle sales rep put you in contact with a sales engineer who can…

100% volunteer force here - that means no time to sit around and guess what you might have done. Please give as much information as possible including that actual template you are trying to use.

With an Error 500 you are going to need to dig through the log files for the cause....
-
Inheritance is at work ... The documentation shows * the primary member of the BI Content Author role is BI Discovery Content Author role I strongly suggest you don't attempt to undo that built in inheritance, but rather build and use your own (with it's own inheritance if needed).

Yes, it's the quirky limitation of a really old product. I doubt Oracle is going to make any improvements (significant) to this product. You will have to use a little creativity as we all have had to with this product!
