Reporting Change: Introducing ISO Standards for Weeks in Reports (Apr 2017)

Overview
With the continued investment in improving our reporting capabilities for Eloqua users, we will be making a change to how weeks are reflected in reporting by moving to ISO Standards. As a result of these changes, you may notice a one-time change in your historical week-by-week reports.
What’s changing?
Previously, Eloqua calculated Week 1 of a year by including those days in the first week and starting Week 2 with Sunday. Trying to compare week 1 year over year became problematic as how many days in a week could change.
Sun | Mon | Tues | Wed | Thurs | Fri | Sat
1 | 2 | 3 | Week 1 (only includes Thurs to Sat)
4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | Week 2 |
In ISO Standard, Week 1 is the first complete week starting with Monday. In this method comparing week 1 will always contain 7 days. Moving to ISO standard brings reliability to your week-over-week reporting.
Sun | Mon | Tues | Wed | Thurs | Fri | Sat
1 | 2 | 3 | Week 52 (These days are assigned to last year)
4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | Week 1 (Starts on Monday) |
11 | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 | 16 | 17 |
Timeline
This change will be included in the 487 release.
Please check the Eloqua Release Center for tentative release dates.
Next Steps
No action is required for customers, but keep in mind you may notice a slight change in your metrics based on this adjustment to the ISO standard.
FAQ
Q: How will my data change?
A: Your data will remain unchanged, but your views of a week may be altered. For example, in the Landing Page Analytics Dashboard in Classic Insight, the dashboard displays landing page views by week. This data would alter slightly based on the ISO Week definition.
Q: Why is Oracle Eloqua changing how they report on weeks?
A: We are making continued improvements to the Eloqua data warehouse. Moving to ISO weekly standard allows us to provide you with more accuracy in week-over-week comparisons.

Hello,
How can we make the week number field cast as an actual date? I tried editing the formula to the following, but it did not work: CAST("Email Send Calendar"."Week Number" AS DATE). Looking for it to display as MM-DD (i.e. 06-16), or even better 'Week of MM-DD' starting with either the Sunday or Monday of that week.
