Deleting Hard Bounce Contacts Automatically

Hi there,
We have a requirement to regularly (once a month) delete our Hard Bounce contacts. This is a straightforward process to do manually, but I was trying to figure out if there was a way this could be done as a program.
Having had a tinker with the Program Builder tool, I'm not seeing a way to do this.
Or maybe there's an app that can do this perhaps? - not that I can find one!
Any tips on how this could be done would be gratefully received.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Sean,
Indeed, it is possible. And you're on the right track! You have to create a Program Builder along with a data tool called, "Deduplication Rules." Details here: https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/marketing/eloqua-user/Help/DeduplicationRules/DeduplicationRules.htm.
The Deduplication HANDLER SET is the bit that actually does the deleting of contacts in Eloqua.
CAUTION: Automatically deleting contacts is dangerous. It does save time but if not configured properly, it can delete contacts you didn't want deleted from Eloqua. So, test for sure with a few test contacts before you launch the Program Builder.
Happy Holidays!

Oh and there are paid apps to do this as well such as this one:
@Mark Levell from 4ThoughtMarketing is the brains behind this cool app for Eloqua.

Hi Sean, we use that "Contact Deleter w/ archive" app from 4ThoughtMarketing that KP mentioned in one of our instances of Eloqua and it works great. The archive is an optionally feature to use with it and we just have it back up those contacts that are being deleted to an SFTP site we have.

Hi KP and Mark,
This is perfect. Thank you both so much. I'm familiar with the dedup rules having used it recently on a different project. But the app does sound tempting. I shall look at both options and take it from there.
Guys... you've both been incredibly helpful... thank you so much.
Wishing you both, and the whole Topliners community a very merry christmas; here's to a great 2023.
Thanks again,
Sean
