Daily Direct Debit Limit for Customers

Summary:

I have a requirement to set Direct Debit limits on Customers based on their agreement with the client. Currently there is no OOTB functionality to manage this. Is there any other work around that is available to assign Direct Debit limits to Customers to prevent over debiting a customer?
