Is it possible to assign Journey tasks to the line manager based on the task effective date?

Our enterprise onboarding journey includes tasks for leaders and team members throughout a team member's first year. In cases where a team member's leader changes in this first year, the journey tasks remain assigned to the original leader, which is then incorrect at the time that the task becomes effective. This causes confusion, as the task reminders are sent to the wrong leader and the new leader is not aware. Is it possible to have tasks assign to the line manager when the task becomes available? Our setup is the following:

Days for Initiation: Varies, ranges from 0 to 365
