How to restrict External User Id Auto population.

Hi All,

I am looking for upload User Information using TCC. While loading the User Id and other information, I am not passing any value for the External User Id. During load, External User Id gets populated same as User Name. Now, here is what i am looking for:
1) How can i restrict the value population to the External User Id
2) What is the Field level mapping for extracting External User Id value for existing records.
