Update Performance Tasks Based on Supervisor Hierarchy

Would like to give line managers access to update performance tasks, task.

We want to give our line managers the ability to update the performance tasks, tasl for their employees.  When we did this in our test environment we noticed it allowed them to search and update these tasks for all in the organization and not just their hierarchy.  Is there a way we can restrict this task to only allow them to search and complete transactions for either just their directs, or those within their supervisor hierarchy?
