Time in Status - Building on the one in the analytics cookbook

First of all - is a great report - however for me at least, for obvious reasons, it shows the value of how long it's been in a particular status at the end of the following row. Also, if an incident goes between several statuses, it doesn't show a combined value for how long it's actually been in each status

Other than pushing this out to the customer portal in a widget, has anyone done the above within an actual report?
