Applying input mask to report filter

We have set up our Contact Quick Search report Phone # filter to look at contacts.ph_office_raw. However, when performing a search some agents will include non-numeric characters such as - or (). When they do this, the report does not return any results as it is looking at the raw phone number without any of those characters.
For example, contact has phone number 1111111111. Agent types in 111-111-1111 in the Phone # filter field when doing a search. This does not return any records despite a contact having that phone number due to the dashes in the agent's search.
