Workaround required to have access to comments from hidden field

Hi,

Currently we have a setup where the Rating & Comments field (enclosed below screenshot) for goals from performance document has been made invisible by using customization. However as a workaround, we have requested users to use the Printable PDF document to pull out last year comments.

We would like to know if there would be any other workaround for the users to see this particular data, having the said field being made invisible.
