Is it possible to End Date Performance Rating Levels

Is there anyway we can end-date certain performance rating level values from a Rating Model that is attached to a performance template that is in use? Some of the levels are not relevant for this years performance cycle and we are trying to avoid creating a new performance template that points to a new rating model.
