Anytime Document and Line Manager Change

What happens in situations where an Anytime Document has been created by line manager X and the employee is then transferred to line manager Y? Does the Anytime Document need to be manually transferred to line manager Y? Can the new line manager Y view and/or modify it without it being transferred to him/her?
