Not Using Goal Weights

Summary

Not Using Goal Weights

Content

We have always used weights for individual goals in the goals module.  The field displays, employees/managers update the weights as appropriate, and then those weights flow through to the performance document at year-end.  Our management is asking the question if we can NOT use weights for goals.  We've never done this, so I'm not sure what is possible or where in configuration settings might have to be changed.

Is there a setting/configuration somewhere that dictates whether the weight field is used or not in Goal Management?  If not using goal weights, are there settings in the performance template that need to be selected (or not selected) to ignore their use in the calculation?  How does the calculation even work if there are no individual weights?  Does the system just assign equal weights to each goal by default?

Howdy, Stranger!
