Performance checkin template cannot be located after eligibility process runs

Perf check in template cannot locate after eligibility process runs  

1) Need clarification if a performance check in type template is still needed to create check in documents. In previous releases I understood this to be true. This is the only place where the document period is identified.  
2) Have also defined the one page check in template. Required eligibility process is identified.  
3) After processes eligibility process with doc type = check in - no check ins are avail to add for the employee or manager. They have the manage check privilege on their delivered employee role.
