Standard Alerts are not triggering for performance tasks

The performance template is configured for due dates for all tasks however, they will trigger for the self evaluation and manager evaluation.  I cannot get them to trigger for Approval, Share and Release or Final Feedback after running the "Send Performance Document Alert and Notification process".  Is anyone else having this issue?
