Performance Document Approval to Employee Manager's Manager

Hi all,
We have an approval step in the performance process flow and the approval goes to the manager's manager. However, when there is a transfer of performance document then it goes to the evaluator's manager, not employees' 2nd level manager. Is there a way to configure the rule to send the approval to employee's 2nd level manager, not the person completing the manager.
