Filter not working in oj-select-single with data source as SDP

We are implementing an LOV for Suppliers, the data for which comes from SaaS.

Steps followed:

Defined a service connection of ADF describe.

Created a oj-select-single and attached an SDP using the Quick Start.

Pagination works perfectly as i keep scrolling the LOV.

But when i type in some text into LOV the results are not filtered.

When i see the console i see the message "Select: DataProvider does not support text filter.  Filtering results in dropdown may not work correctly." 

So What is wrong here or how do we achieve such requirement
