How to configure interim coverage


I have a Medical plan type with 4 plans, 3 plans have 4 options (ee only, ee + sp, ee + ch, ee + fam) and 1 plan is a waive plan with 2 waive options. 

For the new hire life event, i have it configured to default to a waive option in a waive plan. (set up in the option in plan level)


I also have it configured so that when a new hire enrolls into an option with dependent coverage to suspends that coverage (set up in the program level > designation requirements > Certification , suspend enrollment and required)

This works well when elections are made with the exception that i need to configure interim coverage. For new hires, i need employee only coverage to be interim while certs are pending for any dependent option.
