Throughout my career, I’ve always seen Marketing as a fully accountable/metrics driven Demand Generation engine (i.e. doing what needs to be done to drive front line Sales) with a focus that spans not only at the top of the Marketing funnel but also within the Sales Pipeline. The lines have been blurring rapidly between Marketing and Sales over the last decade – and all research indicates that Marketing now plays a much larger role ..much deeper in the buying journey ..now more than ever before.
