Can we change the due Date and document dates after document is triggered.

We have triggered the performance document,. last month and now we want to change the due dates for manager and employees also want to change document period date by month >? is this possible, Performance document it allowed us to change the due dates but it is not visible to end users. Do we need to run any batch process? I believe it wont change the dates once document is triggered still want to confirm with you all/
