How to leverage the OOTB Geography/Country in Custom Object as a Custom Fixed Choice List?

In Custom Object, do we have any better solution to implement/leverage the Geography setup for Country Name/Country Code as a Fixed Choice List/LOV?

Is the only solution to build a Custom LOV maintained by Customer on Custom Object as a Fixed Choice List for handling this scenario.

Any other alternatives/solutions?
