Manager field cannot be edited inline

Hello!

I attempted to create a report so that the manager field could be edited inline, and updated in multiple rows at once...however the manager field did not seem to be selectable for inline editing.  It was grayed out.  Is there something I can do to make this field be selectable for in-line editing?
