How to properly inactive a plan that is no longer in use


Last year, we discontinued our Blue Care HMO plan and replaced it with the KC Blue Select Plus (KC BSP). To close the plan from last year I placed an effective end date of 12/31/2020.  The new KC BSP plan was effective 1/1/21. We mapped everyone from the old plan to the new plan during open enrollment. Now both plans appear as active and we are getting an error when processing a life event for anyone in the new KC BSP plan because we allow our associates to select only one medical plan.
