Reporting on #s of candidates that had EVER been in specific steps/statuses

Hi!  I am new to both OBI and Taleo and am looking for some guidance on a specific internal customer ask...

I am being asked to create a report that would show for a date range:

# Applicants

# Phone Screens

# Interviews

I can easily pull such data for current state, but what we are looking for are the numbers of candidates that had ever been in selected steps/statuses given a specific job/group of jobs and a date range.

Is this possible in Taleo?
