Performance Documents deleted after Work relationship cancellation

I cancelled Worker relationships for few users. In the past, this used to result in orphaning of the performance documents and goals. But now I see that they are getting deleted.

I cancelled Worker relationships for few users. In the past, this used to result in orphaning of the performance documents and goals. But now I see that they are getting deleted. Is this a recent change in HCM cloud?

How do I restore the performance documents that are deleted?
