Termination life event processing after date of event
Content
I have a situation where my client would like termination life events to process and close without manual intervention. Because the benefit relationship end as of the date of event (termination), the Termination life event won't evaluate and close unless it is handled as of the date of the event, which usually requires manual intervention.
More often than not, terminations are not entered in HR as of the date of event. It can be within a few days of the actual termination. Because of this, most of their terminations require manual processing.
I found that this can be avoided by setting the benefit relationship to stay active. However, Oracle doesn't recommend this route as it could cause problems with OE and other mass benefit life events. Oracle recommended created a non-worker assignment, which I assume would still require someone to create this for each terminating EE. This client is fairly large and I don't think it would be very feasible. The document I found was from 2 years ago, so I don't know if there are any other newer recommendations (I couldn't find any).
