How to re order Line Numbers on a negotiation which has multiple lines and when few of the lines are

We posted a solicitation with over 100 lines (BPA), then we did an amendment that made changes to the lines (remove lines, add lines, and update lines at the same time). How does application deal with this? Currently, the application doesn't renumber lines based on sequence (lines # order) after you post the amendment. For example, if you delete lines 3 & 4, after the amendment and new lines changed, it will display 1, 2, 5, etc. It will skip lines 3 & 4 rather than renumbering.

Can someone share if there is any setup on this to get renumbered in sequence automatically or any workaround as this cannot be updated manually with over 100 lines. Spreadsheet functionality doesn't work either.
