Saving a report in your preferred order

We have a report that has several sortable columns. It isn't hard to click on the column headers to change the order but every little bit of time saved helps. We could create multiple copies of the report where the default sort order when opening is each one of the columns in which case we may end up with say 8 distinct reports (one version sorted on name, one on email address etc.). We would prefer, for maintenance, to have just the single report but the user can 'save / bookmark' their preferred sort order, so it always opens like that. Can we do this and,
