Benefits Eligible and Salary Change Life Events

edited Jul 8, 2021 8:01PM in Benefits 6 comments

Summary

Associates becoming benefit eligible the same effective date as their a salary increase

Content

We have two life events trigger when an associate becomes benefit eligible and receives a salary change. Both life events are effective the same day. When this happens, both life events appear as potential life events. When the life events are evaluated, the benefit eligible life event is the winning life event and the salary change life event is voided. Since the salary life event is no longer active, the benefit enrollment is not looking at the associates updated salary.

For example: Sue Johnson is an intern making an annual amount of 52,000. Effective on 7/04/21, she became a full-time regular employee with an annual salary increase of 65,000. She is now eligible to enroll in benefits.

Howdy, Stranger!
