Any possibility to combine Selling time off with OE?

Hello,

Every year end we do selling time off for employees along with Open enrollments. Last year we did the Open enrollments first and then Selling time off later, It was causing lot of issues once we closed the OE LE and evaluating the Selling time off life event. Because of selling time off event we lost all employee enrollments, We ended up doing elections with HDL.

How can we avoid this problem? Is there any possibility to do both events (OE and Selling Time Off) same time, with one LE? does it need entire configuration change to Selling time off? Kindly provide your suggestions If any body come across this scenario or any thoughts related to this.
