Can Matrix Managers be a Performance Document Manager?

Summary:

We are investigating the use of Matrix Managers. We are interested to know whether Matrix Managers can be automatically set as the Performance Document Manager?

I have seen in the "Performance Templates" page that Matrix Managers can be auto-populated as Participants but we are hoping they can be automatically set as the Performance Document Manager.
