Elections not re-instating when event is voided due to collapsing rule

Summary:

We have an event setup with re-instatement rules, but if there is another event entered retro, and the collapsing rules run and result in the original event, any election made on the original event are not re-stated. This is causing a loss of enrollment for the employee and re-work and additional auditing by the benefits department.

Event (Assignment Category change Gain) setup with Reinstatement Rule of “Reinstate if electability exists for backed out result” Collapsing rule setup to collapse Events Assignment Category change Gain and Salary resulting in an Assignment Category change Gain event. 

Scenario

Employee has an assignment change from casual employment to full-time employment resulting in an event (Assignment Category change Gain) which allows them to make enrollment changes, since this is the first time, they are eligible for most of the benefits offered by the company. Event is processed by evaluate life event participation process and the employee completes enrollment. After the enrollments are made, a salary change is entered for the employee the same date as the assignment change. The evaluate life event participation process runs and triggers the collapsing rule and voids the Salary event and the Assignment Category Change Gain event and
