Common practice to test reminder emails and email approvals from lower Instances/POD

Summary:

We are testing the Reminders Notifications functionality. As per tip from Ashok's earlier answers in this community, we will be not able to see reminders in the BPM Worklist.

Question- what is the common practice so that business executives are not confused from email approvals for requisitions from different instances VS Production Instance.

In our Test POD, the email notifications does not work. We are logging SR to figure out how the emails notifications are triggered.

But wanted to reach out , how do other customers handle this email testing.
