Is it possible to keep performance goals separate from goals created in performance documents?

Hello, when we create goals in the performance document, they are also getting added to the employee's goal plan. Is it possible to create goals in the performance document and not have it reflect in the goal plan?

Is there a way to limit goals to where they are created?
