How to enable Standard/Critical Alert for only Employees

Summary:

Is there a way to enable the Standard/Critical Alert to trigger to only Employees rather than to both Employees and Managers? According to the alerts' description: "Manager, worker, or both receive notification when the Critical Alert Due Date was reached for a task as defined in the performance template".

The issue we're facing is that for example, if an Employee-Self Assessment hasn't been completed, both the Employee & Manager will receive this email reminder. We only want the reminder to be sent to the Employee to reduce the amount of email reminders. Even when this reminder is sent to the Manager, he/she cannot or shouldn't take action as this step pertains to the Employee.
