How candidate search is working

1-Candidate search is working based on keyword mentioned in resume?

2-When candidate applies through career site they uploads their resume. From that resume we search in application based on some keyword then will it search and provide us result?

3-There is on point mentioned in doc regarding Resume Text (resumes containing footers aren't parsed) how does it work please suggest.
