The domestic partner elections need to be dealt in such a way that when employee enrolls domestic partners (DP) or domestic partner children along with their biological children or any other combination involving the DPs, the employee and employer deductions is expected to occur automatically in a specific way. We have one approach ("current approach" as mentioned in the document) for this - using different plan types and plans for normal and domestic partner plan types, majority of the scenarios work as expected but few of them fail. To solve for this, we are thinking of a different approach
