Timecard time calculation rule/formula:possible create Regular payroll time on same day as absence?

Summary: Is it possible to create a time calculation rule / fast formula that creates a Regular payroll time type row on the same day as an absence? Here is our need: We have people who are scheduled to work say 10 hours a day. Absence entries are capped at 8 hours max. But, we need people to get that 2 hours (10 hours scheduled versus 8 hours of absence). So, we created a fast formula that does actually generate the Regular Pay row for the right number of hours. See below.

Note that we have 16 hours of absences. This example person works 10 hours a day (20 hours per week). So, we have 4 hours missing. The calc rule created the Regular Pay record, which is great. However, the database does not actually retain the Regular Pay row. When we query the timecard tables the calc row does not exist. When we transfer the timecards from time and labor to payroll, the hours are not reported in the quickpay. Why does the calc rule seemingly work visually, but the data do not seem saved? (Again, the calc row does not
