Eligibility Batch Process - Purging Historic Performance Management Eligibility Status Data?

Summary:

Documentation: How can I improve the performance of the Performance Management application? (oracle.com)

Content (required):

Hi All,

When manually running/scheduling an Eligibility Batch Process to assign performance documents or assign check-in templates - we have the option to "Purge Historic Performance Management Eligibility Status Data".

Oracle's documentation claims that this is usually "unnecessary data" and purging it from the system boosts system performance in the Performance Management module.

Is anyone able to clarify what exactly the "unnecessary data" is?

Any information is helpful!

Thank you!

WIlliam
