VBS Field Templates do not hold or save value across layouts - Next Gen Help Desk

Summary:

We are currently testing Next Gen Help Desk functionality and have noticed that the Field Templates created in VBS and applied to custom fields made in App Composer to have a different field behavior (radio button, long text, etc.) do NOT hold their inputted value across layouts.

Scenario:

  1. User submits Service Request that contains custom fields (with field templates applied via VBS)
  2. "HRHD Agent" User goes to Help Desk Requests to view submitted SR
  3. "HRHD Agent" User canNOT see the inputted values that had originally been saved in the fields that have a field template applied to them
