Editing an assigned task but changes are not reflected

When using the Edit task button on an Employee's assigned task, and making a change, it is not reflected.

As an HR Specialist for example, I'm editing an Employee's assigned task :

But the change I made is not reflected in the "new" task :

What's the use of this Edit task button and its applications then ?
