Error - Reevaluate Designee Eligibility - life event that's in progress enrollment window

The Reevaluate Designee Eligibility process is throwing an error on our employes that events that are in the enrollment window. When I look at the employee, the election is complete but the event is still showing the enrollment window is open.

Will closing the event take this error message away?

Should there be a process that closes the events to prevent this? What is that process?
