Quick Tip for Program: The Detour

As an Adoption Advisor, I've worked with many clients looking to streamline and simplify their Programs. This useful tip is one that I was taught as a Campaign Specialist but haven't seen many clients using: The Detour.

Often, a Program will contain a path where the customer is being sent several campaigns over a period of time, and the marketer is looking for a particular response from the customer. Perhaps it is a Re-engagement program, and the marketer needs to check for opens or clicks before sending the next email, or it's an Invitation program and the marketer is watching for an RSVP before sending a reminder. To do this, they set up a timer, then a data switch with a filter looking for the activity, then the campaign, like below (click image for more detail):
