View Performance Document of Termed Employee

we are unable to locate performance documents for termed employees

Does anyone know how to locate and view a performance document after the employee has terminated? I've checked the employees documents, but it is not there. I tried to create an analysis, but the report did not pull any comments (active or inactive employees) on the performance document.
