From a tax perspective, allowing employees to enter an address and change the effective date to any date other than the date it was entered has the potential to cause our tax audits and inquiries to be inaccurate or appear inaccurate. We should not back date address changes without due diligence and conversations regarding the impact it could have on taxation and possible adjustments and/or research. If an employee is able to delete an address altogether, or change an effective date, or edit address that overrides previous information without leaving an audit trail, we aren’t able to assist with research
