18B Left-Hand Performance Tabs

One of our test environments received the 18B update over the weekend. Yesterday, I logged in and the tabs were large and spaced far apart (which I didn't like). Today, they look like how I expected them to look based on 18B documentation I had seen up to this point. I don't know why they look differently today. But while they look "normal" to me today, one of my business partners sees them the same way I saw them yesterday - big and taking up a lot of space (see screen shot below).
