Reinstatement Rules - Restricted/Unrestricted Program

Summary:

Hi Everyone - I'm wondering if the reinstatement rules should function the same in both restricted and unrestricted programs?

Background:

Our open enrollment window is 8/28-9/11, our life event occured date is 10/1. Coverage is effective 10/1, rates are effective 9/11.

We may change this in the future to avoid our issue, however, as of this year, we have annual merrit changes 9/1-9/22.

Issue:

Since we have salary changes being made thru 9/22, our already processed OE will need to be backed out and reprocessed to capture these changes. In the restricted program there is no issue. All changes made during the OE window are being captured and re-applied when the event is backed out and reprocessed (i.e changing from Medical EE Only to Medical EE Family). Any changes in the Unrestricted program are not being captured (i.e changing 401k % from 3 to 6%. The unrestricted program is carrying over the elections prior to the OE window, not the changes made 8/28-9/11.

Howdy, Stranger!
