Using 'Limit work by points' - more information required

Our Business are exploring the use of 'Limit Work by points' within our configured Routing plans. We have message scenario steps configured to apply a Points value based on the activity duration i.e. 60mins = 60 points. I have then applied the shift points value to the technicians shift. Our understanding was that this would then only allocate a limited amount of work per each resource route - so if we had a filter for customer activity category 'X' to assign via a single routing Run - we could restrict this to say 120points per resource.
